Meet the Designer at sustainable fashion event Fashion Re:Boot Spitalfields

I’ve been out and about again in the world of sustainable fashion. This time to London to do a ‘meet the designer’ at Percy Langley in Spitalfields market. You probably already know that I have an exclusive collection in store there, and that I was up at The Good Clothes Show with them last month (see my last blog for details!). So, it was really special to visit their brand new store and meet the team!

Last week was extra special at Spitalfields because Fashion Re:Boot were there too… a fun and social sustainable fashion event where style lovers, bloggers, and fashion-savvy people come together to buy, sell, and swap pre-loved clothing and accessories. It’s like a pop-up fashion market that gives people the chance to refresh their wardrobes sustainably while connecting with others who share a passion for fashion. Sellers rent a stall and can showcase everything from high street gems to designer pieces, while shoppers can find unique bargains and reduce the environmental impact of fast fashion. It’s a great way to recycle fashion, find something new-to-you, and be part of a more circular, eco-friendly shopping experience.

I met lots of awesome women who are killing it in the world of sustainable fashion, so here are my Spitalfields shout outs!

@jadewarnes – Jade is a great friend of Percy Langley founders Georgina and Poppy and has modelled some of my clothes for their website and socials, you can see her in our fabulous floral co-ord:

I was so pleased to meet her on Friday, she was as lovely in real life as she is on camera.

@stylingontheverge  – Nicky is another regular and friend of the Percy Langley crew. Her Instagram feed is full of colour and she’s a great advocate for midsize and midlife styling. As I sit here writing this, I’m eying up some bright patterned fabric that I think she’d love!

@sarah_soulsby_styles – Sarah is a regular Percy Langley customer and friends with all of the team. She made the effort to come and say hi to me, which was really lovely. It’s a small world as I found out she is also friends with my good mate Jaqui from Sustainable Style Boutique in Salisbury!

@robynhartwinks – I love Robyn, she has the most amazing content and I’ve been lucky enough to work with her in the past. Here she is wearing a very cool patchwork Wilton Dress I made for her:

It was so inspiring to hear about her recent fundraising efforts – At the beginning of the year she was part of a three-woman team who rowed 3000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean! They raised money for three charities that provide access and opportunities to young people within sport, what an amazing achievement!

Can’t wait to hear plans for the next row Robyn!

@just_belle – When Belle Daughtry came into the store for a browse I instantly recognised her! I have been a fan of her social game for a long time now (she has nearly 100,000 followers on Instagram) It’s cottage-core done right! I’d love to get her in one of my floral numbers in the future!

@alisonfernjewellery – Alison is another small business owner who is stocked in Percy Langley. I loved her collab with @Carolinestylehacks so it was great to connect with her in the flesh. Alison was explaining how she had been given a mass of jewellery that hadn’t sold in a local charity shop,  like me she couldnt bare the thought of it going to landfill so she got her creative cap on and has made some fabulous pieces. Go and check it out!

@stylingwithlydia –Lovely Lydia Bannister- her smile could honestly light up any room! She had a pitch full of gorgeous pieces at fashion Re:Boot. She’s also a sustainable stylist, go and check her out.

@emilyfitchm – Another person I have followed avidly for a while. Emily Finch Miller has worked in the fashion industry for years as a Fashion Editor, Stylist, Art Director, Brand Director, and Fashion Consultant. She was another stallholder at Fashion Re:Boot, SO many beautiful clothes t bargain proces. It was great to chat to Emily in person- she is as enthusiastic as me when it comes to true sustainability in fashion.

@ciaraelliott – Ciara is a fashion, interiors and lifestyle editor and is also the host of the Fashion Re:Boot events – this was the first event held at Spitalfields which utilised the market floor instead of the mezzanine, the fact it had come back bigger and better than last time is a testament to Ciara’s passion for sustainable fashion. The next event is in November at Field Farm Shop in Suffolk – I’d really recommend you take a look if you’re nearby!

Don’t forget to check out the @fash_reboot highlight reel as it gives a great insight into the event

Thanks for following along with me on this exciting dive into the world of sustainable fashion! Events like this show how creativity and eco-consciousness can go hand in hand, making it easier for all of us to make more mindful choices. Whether it’s picking up a new favourite piece or just being more aware of how our clothes are made, every little bit counts.

Let’s keep supporting brands and ideas that put the planet first, and continue making fashion fun, fresh, and sustainable!

Best wishes

SJ xx
